Callisto Style Flood Update... Phase One Reopening 💚
It’s been a whirlwind week(and a bit) at Callisto Style and in Monmouth as a whole. Since the flood, we’ve been clearing, bleaching, disinfecting, drying, meeting with insurers, Envionmental Health, even councillors and doing everything we can to get the salon safe, clean and ready to reopen.
Thanks to an incredible amount of hard work from our team, family, friends, volunteers and local businesses, we’re really happy to say that we’re now ready for a phased reopening of the salon.
We’re not quite “back to normal” yet... but we are back.
We’re Open Again... In a Reduced Layout
From 25th November we will be open for business again, although some areas of the salon will remain closed while repairs and reinstatement work continue.
What this means in practice:
We will be working from the areas that have been fully cleaned, disinfected and signed off as safe
There may be some equipment, dryers and dehumidifiers still present while the building finishes drying
A few services or time slots may be limited while we work around the damaged spaces
You might notice some changes when you come in... it's a bit of “work in progress” here and there. Please bear with us while we balance being open with finishing the rebuild.
Hesteyri Pain Solutions Clinic
We’re really pleased to say that Hesteyri Pain Solutions Clinic now has one treatment room upstairs up and running while we continue to sort their usual rooms.
If you’re a Hesteyri client or would like more information about their appointments, please contact Dan at Hesteyri Pain Solutions Clinic directly for the most up to date details.
Your Appointment
Most of the appointments affected during the closure have now been rescheduled. We’ve contacted everyone by phone and left messages where needed, and there are only a couple left to work through — so if you haven’t spoken to us yet, please keep an eye out for our call.
The online booking system is now switched back on, which means you can once again check your appointments, make changes, or reschedule through the website or the Callisto Style app if needed.
If you already have an upcoming appointment booked in and we haven’t contacted you, nothing has changed — please arrive as normal. We’ll look forward to seeing you at your original time and date.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding while we worked through everything in order — it’s helped keep the process calm and organised.
Fundraiser... Nearly at 30% of Our Target
We are now approaching 30% of our fundraising target, which is unbelievable.

Your donations are helping us cover the large flood excess and immediate recovery costs so we can get back on our feet and keep Callisto Style going for the long term. If we raise more than we need, any extra will be passed on to support other homes and businesses in Monmouth affected by the flooding.

Callisto Style Flood Update... and Our Plan Forward 💚
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an update following the unexpected flooding in Monmouth and how it has affected Callisto Style.
Over the last week, we’ve worked through the damage, met with electricians, environmental health and insurers, and begun the clean-up and restoration. It’s been intense, emotional and messy... but we’re getting there.
The Good News
The electrics have now been checked and signed off as safe, and National Grid have confirmed our meter and supply are fine. Drying equipment is currently running throughout the salon, most contaminated materials have already been removed, and a huge amount of deep cleaning, bleaching and disinfecting has been carried out following Environmental Health guidance. The building is now in the final stages of cleaning, airing out and organising back to how it used to be.
We’re still waiting on some final insurance and restoration approvals, so although progress is positive, we’re not ready to fully reopen just yet. Our aim is to reopen next week, even if that means starting with reduced space or phased services while repairs continue.
Appointments Update
We’ve had a few questions about why appointments are still showing in the system, so here’s a simple explanation.
No appointments have been cancelled yet. This is intentional, as keeping everything in the diary helps us see who was due in, which stylist they were booked with, what service was planned and the correct order for rescheduling. It also ensures we don’t lose important information such as deposits and details for insurance purposes.
We’re not intentionally ignoring anyone, we’re just working through things carefully, but it is very busy as im sure you can understand.
No deposits will be lost. Your booking will simply be moved rather than cancelled.
Once we have final guidance and a confirmed reopening plan, we’ll begin personally contacting clients in the order they appear in the diary to rearrange appointments.
There’s nothing you need to do. If you have a booking in the system, you’re already on the list and we will reach out as soon as we’re ready.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work through this. It means a great deal to all of us 💚
Communication
Our phone lines have been unreliable due to the damage, so if you’ve tried calling without success, that’s why.
We’ve been updating clients through email, Facebook and now via our website blog. If this update is the first you’ve received, it may be because your marketing permissions are switched off in Phorest. If you’d like to continue receiving updates, you can adjust your preferences via your online profile or once we reopen.
A Huge Thank You
To everyone who has reached out, offered help, shared equipment, messaged, donated, scrubbed, lifted and supported — thank you. The kindness and community spirit has been overwhelming, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Fundraiser + Community Support
We have set up a community fundraiser to help cover the insurance excess and immediate recovery work. If the total raised exceeds what we need, any remaining funds will be donated to support homes and businesses in the town also affected by flooding.
Next Steps
Right now, we’re focusing on continuing the drying process, waiting for the final insurance instructions and beginning reinstatement work. We’ll keep sharing updates as things progress and will confirm reopening plans as soon as we can.
Our goal is simple...Return stronger, calmer and incredibly grateful.
Thank you for standing with us. We’ll speak to you soon.
With love, Paula & The Callisto Style Team 💚
19/11/2025

Dear lovely clients,
Thank you so much for your patience while we’ve been navigating the aftermath of the recent flooding in Monmouth. Our salon was directly affected when the river burst its banks late Friday into early Saturday morning, and like many businesses and residents in town, we’ve been working hard to assess and repair the damage.
We’re sorry this update took a little time — we only regained access to our systems today, and our priority these past few days has been ensuring safety, clearing the building, and beginning the recovery process.
💚 A Huge Thank You
To everyone who has offered help, checked in, volunteered or kept us in your thoughts — thank you. The support has been overwhelming, and because of it, great progress has already been made.
The disinfecting process begins tomorrow and will take a few days, followed by drying and insurance assessment etc. With continued help and a bit of patience, we’re hopeful we’ll be operating again sooner rather than later.
📅 If You Have an Upcoming Appointment
First and most importantly: nothing is cancelled.
Your appointment is still in our system... we just need a little time to confirm how, when and where it can take place.
Here’s what’s happening:
• Our online booking system is temporarily switched off so no new bookings are made while we reorganise the diary.
• Automated messages or reminders may still send... please ignore them for now.
• We are working on securing a temporary workspace, and once finalised, we will contact clients individually to confirm arrangements.
We will prioritise all existing bookings, especially in the lead-up to Christmas, though with limited space and reduced capacity, appointment times may need some flexibility.
We promise:
✔ No appointment will be forgotten
✔ You will hear from us directly
✔ We will never rush or compromise quality
📲 A Note About Communication
Some clients have marketing emails and/or SMS notifications switched off, which means we are unable to contact you through the system.
If you haven’t received updates, please get in touch and let us know your happy to havce them switched on so we can reach you during this period
You can switch them off again in the future — but for now, it’s the quickest way for us to keep everyone informed.
💚 Supporting the Salon During Recovery
Many of you have asked how you can help, which means the world. We’ve set up a crowdfund page to support the salon during the downtime while we await insurance clarity and work through repairs.
This isn’t just to cover the insurance excess... it’s to help us keep the salon going, support the team, maintain running costs, and ensure Callisto Style survives this disruption.
If we raise more than we need, the remainder will be donated to other Monmouth residents and businesses affected by the floods.
👉 Crowdfund link: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/qr/BWdq0gGn?utm_campaign=sharemodal&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=shortlink
Sharing the link is just as valuable as donating.
💚 A Note of Appreciation to Our Community
We also want to acknowledge the incredible effort from Monmouth Town Council, emergency services, utility teams, contractors, and the many volunteers who have been working around the clock to support residents and businesses. The response has been nothing short of inspiring.
Monmouth truly is an incredible town — resilient, compassionate and united. We will rebuild… and we will come back stronger than ever 💚
💚 Finally…
Callisto Style has always been more than a salon... it’s a community. The last few days have shown just how strong that community is.
We’ll continue updating everyone via email, Facebook and Instagram when we can.
Thank you again for your patience, kindness and loyalty... we couldn’t do this without you!
Warmest wishes,
Paula & The Callisto Style Team
